morgenstern’s 2026 banana split - april 24th 1/5

with natalie and isa, i was actually really sad and anxious this day. this banana split had a lot going on and felt random. small for the price. ambiance of the shop was not ideal. going back to my first point, i had an anxiety attack about dying while eating this lol.

thai diner april 28th - coconut pecan sundae 3/5

i had been trying to get this sundae for like a year but i could not be bothered to wait for a table and i was kinda waiting for the perfect conditions in order to go, which never came. i gave up waiting and took myself on this random monday after work. the sundae was beautifully presented but had too much nuts for me. i’ll go again, one day, to try a milkshake or something.

cocoron green tea affogato - may 2nd 4/5

boring day off and the only thing i left the apartment for was this dessert. it was actually everything i was hoping for. i don’t really know all it contained but there was some matcha and there was some corn flakes and there was some red bean. beautifully presented. natalie met me here and we ended up having an interesting evening at the park in chinatown and i traded two cigarettes with our new friends so they would turn on olivia rodrigo snl performance at scarrs. but yes i loved this affogato, i will be going back.

cafe select flourless chocolate cake - may 27th 3/5

mias last day of work. the first time i tried to order this i was waiting for like an hour and it never came and i almost cried, but this time it arrived in a timely manner. the cake to ice cream ratio was perfect and although it looks small it was filling. the dryness of the cake was made up for by the ice cream and strawberries. it was beautiful and i was given extra strawberries. xoxo

mixue matcha soft serve - june 4th 3/5

adding mixue in here. literally like 2 dollars for an ice cream cone and makes me feel like it is 2017. only con is that its on canal street which is overstimulating but an adventure. the store itself is overstimulating too but fun. cheap and fun and cute.

comal earl grey swirl soft serve - june 12th 3/5

after work and natalie had just biked in the thunderstorm to meet me. it was a fancy restaurant and i really didn’t know that, we were the only two in the establishment in regular ass clothes. we just ordered the soft serve and a beer. a beautiful stainless steel sundae cup. earl grey and vanilla swirl. all made in house. creamy and delicious. they change the flavors every day or week i think, so maybe ill be back.

remedy diner banana split - june 18th 4/5

natalies last day in the city for like a month or so, so after i got off work we frolicked, got tacos, sat at tompkins, and i remembered remedy diner is one of the few 24 hour diners in the city and i am dedicating more love to this dessert journal and banana splits so we went. more diners. less bars. it was a typical banana split. but i love the diners ambiance and i love my friend natalie so that brought the rating up. no sprinkles or toppings though. traditional and sweet.

cafe select pecan pie - june 20th 2.5/5

after work, kims last day. i dont like pie or nuts that much but i felt the need to order it. it was pretty good. no other comments really.
